I'm currently working on a short film

You know that short film in a month thing I posted? I'm in the middle of doing that again. It's not my idea or anything I'm just a character designer, storyboard artist and animator. But it's getting me thinking about animation in general.

It's such a time consuming task and form of art. An illustration can take a long time yes but animation usually needs an entire team to make happen. I dont understand how people don't understand how much work and time goes into animation. Yeah the art is simple, but drawing that thousands of times and every drawing has a purpose to the bigger picture. So every drawing takes multiple times to get right. Sometimes you get the rough animation done and decide it doesn't look right and do it over again. 2 minutes of animation can take an entire month probably more.

I guess I'm just saying i'm excited to be working on another short film and to appreciate animatiors. Everyone loves the characters, the story and themes with the show they like but please take the time to know who animated it and appreciate them a little bit. I've had so many clients and people offer me to animate an entire short film by myself for $100. That's literally months of work it's not worth it for us animators. Spreading the word about the work that goes into animation, helps animators in general. Ok bye!
