ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Kayla Butcher a 2D Animator. I have always had a passion for anything creative in general. Growing up all I wanted to do was draw and sing. I thought I wanted to be a singer but as I grew I realized that I'm a cartoonist more than anything. Cartoons aren't just cartoons to me. I love creating characters and the concept, storyboarding and even color scripts. But I ended up settling on the animating part. To me it's the most exciting part! Your character is coming alive right before your eyes. I directed my own short film in 2024, called "Zipper Mouth". A short about a voodoo doll with a zipper for a mouth who likes to make noise. I've also been a part of 11 short films now, usually animating but also character design, storyboard art and even 2D rigging. I went to the Academy of Art University for 2D animation and CA BOCES for Media and Technology Communications. I use Toon Boom Harmony primarily for projects. Let's animate together!
